Using technology to enhance parent-teacher communication

I believe that parent teacher communication is an important part of being an effective teacher. In todays society busy working parents may not have the time to see the teacher to find out what their children are learning, what work they shuold be completing and how they are doing in general. I believe that technology could help to enhance the parent teacher communication. Through creating class websites or online calendars parents can feel that they are more involved i their students learning.

These mediums I believe could all play an active role in bettering parent teacher communcation. Some of the school wide suggestions i believe could be benefited by incorporating them into the classroom. For example a class blog would be fantastic for teachers to post information and also allows parents to make comments or ask questions.
This article is a highly beneficial read for teachers. I truely believe that to be an effective teacher you need to have clear communication lines between yourself and the parents. Using technology to do this would be a fast an effective tool which is mostly free and simple to use.
