Using Blogs to Benefit Teaching

June 14th, 2008

I came across an interesting article about how teachers can use blogs as a means of communication between one another, and how they can use blogs to benefit their teaching.

This article suggested the following 10 examples of how teachers can benefit from using blogs:

1. Post materials and resources

2. Host online discussions

3. Create a class publication

4. Replace your newsletter

5. Get your students blogging

6. Share your lesson plans

7. Integrate multimedia of all descriptions

8. Organise, organise, organise

9. Get feedback

10. Create a fully functional website

This article has given me so many more ideas on how i can incorporate and use teacher blogs.  I feel that in todays technology based society teachers and educators need to be up to date and using these technologies to benifit themselves.  Using teacher blogs will be much quicker and efficient in getting things done and making things known to parents and teachers.  This has been a very inspirational article for me.
