Class Webpages?

I have recently been looking into ways in which teachers can promote better communication between themselves and their class parents.  I have been made aware of Wikispaces.  This Website allows you to create your own website, through  this website you can create pages and links and upload documents.

I believe that this site could be very useful for teachers.  It will allow them to post notes online, student work samples, general information for parents about what they are learning about and as a great means for general communication.  This site is free and has a secure password to ensure that no unauthorised persons can access the site. 

To have a successful class webpage i believe that teacher, students and parents should all have access to this site to ensure that everyone is involved and that everyone has a voice.  Through posting relevant information online parents can feel involved in their childs learning.  Wikispaces is a free website and it is easy amd siple for people to use.  It allows new paged to be created and also for people to leave comments which i believe is a very useful tool.  I will definatley incorporate wikispaces into my teaching.
